The Moors are Jewish and Muslim who lived in Morocco and Spain and accepted the Christians among them without any discrimination. They have established a heaven of knowledge that Europe could not equal at the time and made European minds to come out of the Dark Age. My aim is to qualify awareness and value interest to make connection with historical facts and to share them as gift to enhance our common knowledge and to elevate our mutual understanding to higher level of closeness. My sole preoccupation in writing about the contribution of the Moors in the Discovery of the Western Hemisphere is an expression of my desire and dream to bridge knowledge and make people to accept all other cultural contributions in the progress that our Humanity has recorded during the time of our ancestors. I do the same at many level of my life and here I wanted to underline that wars and conflicts were not just the reason of contacts between civilizations of different faith or from opposite side of the shores of the same seas and oceans but their interactions have also stimulated the development of knowledge and contributed in the advance and the discovery of new elements which have emerged directly or indirectly from such encounters between the people of this world. To enhance such heritage is important to find layers of commonalities and similarities in historical references that can serve as past example to set new platforms of harmony and acceptance among ourselves. The following web link will you give the list of the names of the Crew of the 3 Ships sailing toward India: http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/caribarch/columbus.htm The names of the Crew were introduced in the following terms: “Between 86 to 89 men accompanied Christopher Columbus on his first voyage. There were 20 on the Niña, 26 on the Pinta, and 41 on the Santa María. ” I just used few names of the Crew to show how my statement on the contribution and the presence of Moorish and Moors in the Crew is supported by facts and that effectively the Moorish have been involved directly in the Christopher Columbus Voyage. I just took some of the names of the Crew for the reason to just shed some lights on how dark minds can not appreciate all the bright sides of the History as a treasure of all the Humanity. The following lines here will give you the proof and let you to see the right connections between what I called a research based analysis and just the process of cut and paste from a search engine that provided knowledge that is based on fortune teller predilection - Here we go Santa Maria: CREW Members:

Sebastián Fox Morcillo was born in Seville between 1526 and 1528. Around 1548 he studied at Louvain and published commentaries on Plato and Aristotle, in which he endeavored to reconcile their teachings. His numerous works on philosophy and style brought him wide acclaim, and in 1559 he was appointed tutor to Don Carlos, son of Philip II. He did not live to assume his post, however, for he was lost at sea on his way to Spain in 1560. The following discussion is based on R. Pike, "The Converso Origin of Sebastián Fox Morcillo," Hispania, LI (Dec. 1968), 877-882.
Those who were left in Hispaniola, and perished, most of them murdered by the natives:- See list a this website: http://history-world.org/Columbus,%20List%20of%20Sailors.htm An Indian chief Tiano who was being executed was about to be baptized. The priest promised him that if he did get baptized, he would go to paradise. He asked the priest:"Are there any Spaniards in your heaven?". The priest responded that only good ones go to heaven. At those words, the chief refused the baptism retorting that "even the best one of them is worth nothing; I do not want to go to any heaven where I stand to meet one" Finally, a Moorman born in Azemmour that is less than 6 miles from my own birthplace in Morocco, has effectively explored the North and Southeast of the US and Mexico. His real name is Mustapha and known here in the Western World as Estevanico, check his adventure at this web site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estevanico One day in Oakland, California, I received an Anthropologist, Dr. Richard Ambro, who brought me a book on Estavanico and we discussed the impact of this explorer and I told him about the movie I watched in France, Cabeza de Vaca, where there is reference of Estebanico - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabeza_de_Vaca_(film). This Mexican film was directed by Nicolás Echevarría. Similarly, I showed to Dr. Ambro an extract published by an African-American publication on the Scientists and Explorers of African origin that have lived during the time of Slavery in the Western Hemisphere. After we shared our sources, Dr. Ambro went to his office. I went back to my duties and I was so absorbed by what I was doing that I did not notice the entrance and the presence of a young Man. I asked him about what was his needs, we conducted the transaction and I asked him about his name. He said that his name was Estavanico, I dropped everything I was holding and went around the counter and I hug him and embrace him while telling him: "Welcome back to your Home, Brother." While I was this, an electric charge went from the back of my head to the bottom of my toes and the hair on my head and my body raised like if they were blown by an invisible draft of spiritual air. The young Men has his face lightened by this sudden show of affection and just said Welcome. I explained to him the sequences of events that preceded his visit. His response was that his roommate is named also Estavanico. That was my spiritual encounter with Estavanico on this land where he preceded me. Estevanico, born in Morocco, was the first known person born in Africa to have arrived in the present-day continental United States. He is known by many different names, common are Esteban de Dorantes, Estebanico and Esteban the Moor. Wikipedia
